CivicStory will host a free public forum on “News & Democracy” on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, from 7:30pm - 9:00pm in the Auditorium of Central Presbyterian Church, 70 Maple St., Summit, NJ. The public is welcome, admission is free, reservations are required. To reserve your seat, REGISTER HERE.
The panel of distinguished journalists and thought leaders in the field of journalism will address questions such as: How does daily news foster or inhibit problem-solving? Does the emphasis on breaking news distract the public from stories that may have less visibility but greater impact, such as reversing global warming? How could the news field empower citizens to solve society’s complex problems?

Stefanie Murray: Director, Center for Cooperative Media at Montclair State University
Paula Saha: Dir. of Communications, NJ State Bar Association
The panel will be moderated by CivicStory Founder and Creative Director, Susan Haig. The forum is free and open to the public.
