NJ media collaborative seeks news project manager

For immediate release 5/2/19

CivicStory, a New Jersey-based news nonprofit, is seeking a part-time project manager to coordinate and launch a statewide media collaborative aiming to amplify sustainability news in and beyond New Jersey. The collaborative is supported by a consortium of nonprofit news and education groups across the state.

Called the NJ Sustainability Reporting Hub, the project has three components:

  1. Eight multimedia reporters, with New Jersey newsrooms, will be selected as Reporting Hub Fellows to report on sustainability action over a period of six months.

  2. Multimedia news stories will be aggregated from the fellows’ newsrooms and other news sources, including universities and schools, and compiled into a weekly Hub Digest.

  3. A circle of New Jersey distribution partners will coordinate broad dissemination of the Hub Digest and stories produced by Reporting Hub fellows.

The six-month pilot phase is slated to begin in August. Applicants should send a resume and cover letter to Editors@CivicStory.org, and must be available for work on or after June 3, 2019.
